DAoC and SWG have approximations to this, with multiply-flavored XP
that improve different sets of skills.

It seems like it would be great.  the problem with "gradually" is
that while it models real life fairly well, it translates to
"forever" in game terms unless you grind that skill (or, more likely
these days, fire off a macro when you go to school/work and pick
things up again when you get home).
