I think you may be confusing 'system' and 'world'. The environment is
certainly of concern to the RPer, but the mechanics of that environment
are generally not dwelled upon.

Yes... because he wants more toys. QED.

Get on a couple of popular MUDs. Join a public chat channel that lots of
people are on. Ask whether they'd like to see a new area based on Monty
Python and the Holy Grail. Watch the response.

I think that speaks for itself.

Well, yeah. As a change of pace.

But these games are not integrated with 'serious' games. Your example is
more similar to what I do, which is to go off and MUD once in a while
because it's a nice change of pace from dedicated campaign-oriented RP.
It's relaxing to go out and just kill whatever moves instead of
examining everything and holding long political battles with other clan
leaders about control of the trade routes through Saladin and whether
the tariffs on Alturian wool are fair. However, I'd be a little upset if
you hung a MUD of the side of such a game like some sort of saddlebag,
even if it did make it a little more convenient for me to wander over to
it and let off steam -- because it doesn't fit.
