I ran into this article sometime ago but fortunately I forget things
so fast that it seems brand new to me.  I am a dabbler of
value-based pricing, but I am not entirely convinced.

I believe I understand your argument and in fact I don't even
disagree with it on a personal level.  In all fairness, I would put
Open Content with "free to copy, free to modify, free to resell" at
the other end of LEDO and a potentially viable option for virtual
world object proliferation.
