I'd say this is attention/dedication more than immersion.

Immersion itself isn't bad, it's when you get too immersed, most
people (I'd say 90%) don't have a problem with it.  It's more of a
lack of self-control IMHO, and I don't feel that it's our part as game
developers to worry about it without a specific reason.

As Travis Nixon mentioned (I loved reading that message btw, I don't
see why we need to limit ourselves to the lowest common denominator)
if you're writing a game for adults, don't limit yourself because a
child might possible play it.
