Well, they are buy only, but since you can buy credits with gold,
you can get them without buying credits. Granted, they are so
expensive for the most part that it takes a _lot_ of gold.

We sell houses for quite a bit. The other things are low-cost items
that don't make a lot of money. Unless you have a massive
playerbase, this is not a good strategy, particularly as you're
forced to limit how many of <x> you sell.
