Actually, the most common thing I've heard come from grief players'
mouths to justify their actions is: "It's just a game.  Quit taking it
so seriously."

Which I personally do not buy, of course. :)

I've never heard anybody try to claim the other person doesn't exist
though, which is obviously a silly claim from the outset.
