I've had people occassionally calling me "Claw" for almost 15 years
now. I've simply gotten used to it and have come to expect it as a
variant when in about those I've admined or emailed extensively
(historically I've rarely used a GECOS field). I'm still not used
to paople calling me "JC" -- an affection I adopted only a few years
ago due to being called "Miss Lawrence" a few too many times one
week.

Names are symbols, define algebras, found semantics, create meaning.
