    That's both true and false.  True, in the sense that (rather unwieldy)
acronym does come in handy when you are pitching to suits as a way to set a
commercial venture aside from the decidely non-commercial majority of MUD's.
False, in that it was the MUD enthusiasts themselves that bristled at
applying the label of MUD to games like NWN, M59, and UO.  It was easier to
invent a new term than to argue with them over it.

    But money washes clean all sins, apparently.  ;-)  Actually, the latest
in TrendySpeak is to refer to them as PSW's (Persistent Simulated Worlds).
