Finally someone asks. Time to bluesky things a bit.

Someday there won't be a central admin with a finger on the power
switch--there will be hundreds of them all over the place, with varying
degrees of power and highly variable scruples. Someday you may well do many
of your daily tasks on a mud or mudlike system. Your financial records, your
daily work, etc, will be on this system. When that day comes, wouldn't you
like to know that you have the aforementioned rights?

Yes, this is hypothetical. It's just for arguing over because it is fun to
do so.

No, I don't expect people to sign it. I personally probably would be quite
willing to do so. But someday, this is going to be real, and we're going to
wish we had such a document. Isn't it fun to be able to say that we thought
of it? ;)

On top of that, I think that it is a useful tool for players and admins
alike: admins who don't know what they are doing can use it as a blueprint,
and players can use it to evaluate mud administrations in search of one they
like.

So none of the uses of this document have anything to do with anyone signing
it. :)
