What's happening with DevMUD? Well, I've been playing around with it for the
last few days, and this invite is to view some simple results.

I've taken Jon Leonard's loader and config stuff, and my socket and telnet
stuff from devmud, and smushed them together with my old ToyMUD stuff. The
result is a ToyMUD world with proper telnet support. I'm running it with
my castle database (347 locations) on my machine here, and you are all
invited to fiddle with it over the next couple of days. If you read the
README from the archive for this on Jon's site, I've fixed the hole of
"everyone is a wizard with no limits", by a simple kluge.

Notes:

- machine name is 'mud.GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA'.
    (if that fails, try 'ami-cg.GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA')

- ports:
    6666 - if you have a full-featured telnet client
6668 - if you have a client that doesn't even understand telnet
6669 - if you have a client that does LPMUD-specific stuff

If you have telnet-related or prompt or password related problems, enter
'**?' for the telnet code help information.

- do *not* use a password you care about - they are stored in plaintext in
    the database that ToyMUD keeps.

- there is nothing to do in the world except explore. There is no combat,
and no object does anything (other than the mirror, which reflects).
However, you can move around, chat, pose, etc.

Don't design inefficiency in - it'll happen in the implementation. - me
