Ahem, Island was Richard Green's mud, wasn't it? Or has he signed the
copyright over to you?

If you try to bring Island back without his consent (and from what I've
heard, he doesn't want Island to come back) then you will be breaking
copyright laws and you know it.

Even if he does want it to come back, I think it's about time you started
giving the authors of Island some credit. You were only made a
meta-wizard after you gave Island a new site last year and a few months
after that it closed down. Considering that Island's history dates back
to 1990 and you appeared as a player in 1995, I don't think you have any
legal or moral claim to it (unless it has been sold to you.)

Why don't you let Dr Green worry about his mud - and get on with writing
your own? Or is it only other people who should be writing their own muds
from scratch rather than using somebody else's code?

Let's face it, Martin, you speak many fine words about mud design and
writing from scratch - but the only mud you've ever started was an LP with
a Lima mudlib and most of your posts on this mailing list have been about
features of Island which Richard Green wrote, before you'd even heard of
it.

I'm sorry if I sound bitter and I'm sorry for creating noise - but this
had to be said.
